Haley made the statement during a Sunday morning appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation," with host Margaret Brennan. Brennan asked Haley whether she saw evidence of Trump declining mentally when she served in his cabinet as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
"If you look recently there have been multiple things," Haley said. "He claimed Joe Biden was gonna get us into World War II. I'm assuming he meant World War III. He said he ran against President Obama. He never ran against President Obama."
"Don't be surprised. If you have somebody that's 80 in office. Their mental stability is going to continue to decline. That's just human nature," Haley said. "If you look at Joe Biden, he's very different than he was two years ago. Are we really going to go into a situation where we have wars around the world, and we're trying to prevent war, and we're gonna have someone who we can or can't be sure is gonna get confused?"

"He's just not at the same level he was at 2016, and I think we're seeing some of that decline," she said.
Haley is rallying support in New Hampshire and South Carolina coming off a third-place finish in the Iowa caucuses earlier this month. Trump won the caucuses with an overwhelming lead over any of the candidates, followed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Haley has argued that Iowa had poor turnout due to record low temperatures, with much of the state having been in below-zero weather on Election Day.
"You look at Iowa. I mean President Trump won a state of three million people with 56,000 votes. We had a very low turnout in Iowa. We’re going to have a really good turnout in New Hampshire," Haley told reporters on Friday.
Trump defended himself during a rally with supporters in New Hampshire this weekend, arguing he is more mentally fit than ever.
"I don't mind being 80, but I'm 77, that's a big difference," he said. "I feel my mind is stronger now than it was 25 years ago."

Ultimately, the university determined that former Harvard President Claudine Gay's "conduct was not reckless nor intentional," and did not rise to the level of "research misconduct." The summary aimed to show Congress the "rigor" of Harvard's review.
In addressing the claims of plagiarism made against Gay, the school told the House Committee on Education and the Workforce that the "allegations arose in a time of unprecedented events and tension on campus and globally."
"We worked to address relevant questions in a timely, fair, and diligent manner. We understand and acknowledge that many viewed our efforts as insufficiently transparent, raising questions regarding our process and standard of review," the school added.
Gay, who resigned earlier this month after taking on the role as president of the university last July, was accused last October of plagiarizing several passages in published academic articles stretching back to the 1990s. Following the initial claims, other allegations of plagiarism were made against Gay in subsequent weeks.

Gay's resignation, which was documented in a January 2 letter to members of the Harvard community, came amid a flurry of criticism for how she handled concerns about antisemitism on Harvard's campus.
The university's summary detailing its review process came after the House Education and the Workforce committee — the same committee Gay testified before in December — launched an investigation last month into how the school was addressing concerns of antisemitism, as well as how it was handling the allegations of plagiarism against Gay.
Led by Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., the House committee sent a four-page letter to Harvard Corporation Senior Fellow Penny Pritzker demanding that the school produce internal documents on allegations of Gay’s plagiarism, disciplinary actions taken against students at the school accused of plagiarism and communications with the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE).
In the documents submitted Friday, Harvard noted that it had first begun to review allegations of plagiarism against Gay after the school was contacted by a reporter with the New York Post on October 24. The Post, according to the university, provided Harvard with 25 allegations of plagiarism.
"The university promptly began to assess the allegations and, through counsel, requested additional time from the Post’s legal counsel to review these allegations," the school wrote. "In the course of the next several days, Harvard reviewed and analyzed the relevant excerpts. It also preliminarily assessed how the allegations would likely be considered under the research misconduct standard and reached out to several authors of the works at issue to solicit their reactions, none of whom objected to then-President Gay’s language."
On October 29, five days after the school received word about the initial claims of plagiarism, the Harvard Corporation, the school’s governing board, voted unanimously to initiate a review of the questionable works. Gay requested an independent review the same day, according to the school.
"In order to avoid a real or perceived conflict, it determined that the review should be conducted by individuals who did not ultimately report to then-President Gay," the school wrote.
But the law firm representing Harvard sent a threatening letter to the Post in late October, which dismissed the accusations of plagiarism as "demonstrably false" and stated that her work was "cited and properly credited."
CRITICS CHEER RESIGNATION OF 'ANTISEMITIC PLAGIARIST' HARVARD PRESIDENT CLAUDINE GAY: 'BYE FELICIA'
Four members of the Harvard Corporation — the former presidents of Princeton University and Amherst College, a former California Supreme Court justice and Stanford University faculty member and a partner at the Paul Weiss law firm — were tasked with conducting the review as a subcommittee.
Although the subcommittee reviewing Gay's work delved deeper into her past articles, the research misconduct policy for Harvard’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences typically limits reviews to articles published or cited by the author within the past six years.
On November 3, the school said that the subcommittee had "appointed three of the country’s most prominent political scientists" to an independent panel to review three of Gay's allegedly plagiarized works, as well as Harvard's policy regarding academic misconduct. Though the identities of those individuals were not disclosed, the school said the members of the independent panel included "tenured faculty members at prominent research institutions across the country, fellows of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and two . . . former presidents of the American Political Science Association."
A two-page memo sent from the independent panel to the subcommittee on November 16 stated that there was "no doubt" that the articles by Gay "are both sophisticated and original," and that there was "virtually no evidence of intentional claiming of findings that are not President Gay’s." The independent panel did, however, note that Gay had fallen short when it came to adequate citations.
"The Independent Panel identified nine of the 25 allegations presented by the Post as allegations ‘of principal concern,’ which ‘paraphrased or reproduced the language of others without quotation marks and without sufficient and clear crediting of sources,’ failing ‘[o]n occasion’ to ‘provide citations according to the highest established scientific practice,’" the school wrote.
During a November 20 meeting, members of the independent panel recommended that the subcommittee conduct what the school referred to as a "broader review" of Gay's work. That review involved the use of a software program to locate passages that had "potentially duplicative language," according to the school.
"The Subcommittee concluded that, although many of the allegations were meritless, there were instances that did not adhere to the College Guide. The Subcommittee determined that two articles required corrections," the school told Congress. "One of the required corrections the Subcommittee identified related to an article not reviewed by the Independent Panel. While it required corrections, the Subcommittee determined that then-President Gay’s conduct was not reckless nor intentional and, therefore, did not constitute research misconduct as defined by the FAS Research Misconduct Policy."
Harvard also noted that it had been made aware of additional plagiarism allegations, which included charges against Gay's dissertation, through social media on December 10. However, the subcommittee had not included her dissertation in its initial review. Two days later, on December 12, the subcommittee released a statement in support of Gay and made reference to the corrections she had agreed to make. The board again backed her on December 21 and detailed additional corrections, including ones to her dissertation.
Harvard made clear in the Friday summary of its review that the Harvard Corporation would not be involved in handling further allegations of misconduct against Gay, because she is no longer president.
Following her resignation, Gay returned to the Harvard faculty. Issues that arise with faculty are typically reviewed by a university committee, which reports to the university president.

The fact that I was able to file a bill, catch the mistake, withdraw the bill and refile within a 24-hour period shows that we have a good system," he said. "This is a bill to combat a problem of familial and cyclical abuse that transcends generations of Kentuckians. I understand that I made a mistake, but I sincerely hope my mistake doesn’t hurt the chances of the corrected version of the bill. It is a good bill, and I hope it will get a second chance."
The initial bill went viral on social media and was withdrawn on Wednesday, the Kentuck General Assembly website shows.
TENNESSEE, KENTUCKY BANS ON TRANSGENDER PROCEDURES FOR MINORS UPHELD IN FEDERAL COURT
Wilson later filed a new version of the bill adding back language barring sexual contact with a "first cousin," as well as a parent, child, grandparent, grandchild, great-grandparent, great-grandchild, uncle, aunt, nephew, niece, brother, sister, ancestor, or descendant.
"House Bill 289 adds ‘sexual contact’ to incest, applies a penalty to such conduct, and adds incest to the violent offender statute. This bill makes NO other changes to current law," Wilson, a 33-year-old University of Kentucky graduate, wrote in another Facebook post Wednesday.
Wilson rose to fame after winning Survivor: David vs. Goliath in 2018, and later competed in 2020's Survivor: Winners at War.
Last March, Wilson received criticism from LGBTQ activists for voting in favor of another bill, known as SB 150, that barred sex change surgeries and other transgender medical treatment for minors.
"This is a bill that pertains only to children. This is not 'anti-trans' or ‘anti-LGBTIA+ legislation,’" Wilson said in a statement to People at the time. "SB150 is a bill aimed at protecting children from making life-altering decisions at too young of an age. If you're a Kentuckian over the age of 17, then your rights are not affected by this bill whatsoever."
The bill was vetoed by Democratic Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, but the Republican-controlled legislature overrode the veto, allowing the measure to become law.
Amid legal efforts seeking to prevent enforcement, Republican Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron defended the law as "commonsense law protect[ing] children from the irreversible effects of experimental drug treatments like puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones." In October, Kentucky's ban on transgender procedures for minors was upheld in federal court.
The law also includes measures intended to prevent school administrators from hiding students' transitions from their parents or requiring use of pronouns not in line with biological sex.

Because for all the seductive draft picks the Dolphins got for Tunsil and turned into other shiny talent pieces, Tunsil remains in this postseason. And the Dolphins are basically in the same spot they were back in 2019 when the rebuild began.
They’re still looking for their first playoff victory since December 2000, and their first division championship since 2008, which is before Stephen Ross assumed full ownership.
So the rebuild has not delivered as promised.

That should be painfully apparent to Dolphins ownership, the front office, fans and everyone with eyes following Saturday night’s 26-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL wild-card round.
The Dolphins, so entertaining and explosive against sub-.500 teams this year, ran into another team with a winning record and lost. Again.
The Dolphins finish their season with a 1-6 record in games against teams with winning records. They were 10-1 against teams with losing records.
That means the rebuild has so far led to the construction of the NFL’s mightiest cream puff.

CHIEFS PREVAIL OVER DOLPHINS IN FRIGID PLAYOFF GAME
What people not drawing a check from owner Ross care about is whether next January will be different. That’s all that matters.
The conga dances amid 70-point outbursts against sub-.500 teams were nice in September. But my guess is Miami’s fan base prefers an ugly, bloody, bone-crunching, win over a contender in mid-January 2025.
The frightening thing, however, is there isn’t an obvious path to get there in 12 months. Not based on a rebuild that began back when today’s kindergartners were born.
The Dolphins, you see, are an enigma of a team.
They boast some amazing talent, but a lot of that talent comes with significant injury histories. It’s the reason some of them were available. So a lot of stars that may help the Dolphins get to the playoffs do not play late in the season or the playoffs.
The Dolphins are also a team built on marvelous speed. Players such as Tyreek Hill, Jalen Waddle, De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert could pass for a relay team. But the club that can fly was too often grounded against good teams because it lost at the line of scrimmage.
And, by the way, the triggerman that activates all that offensive speed, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, is carrying more weight now than when he entered the NFL. That helps him survive hits that cause injuries, but the tradeoff is he seems slow and generally unable to create plays with his feet.
Tagovailoa shows great prowess making quick decisions and delivering the ball with very good accuracy. But his weakness is exposed when quick decisions and reads are not available and he has to improvise with any regularity.
That, quite probably, is the gap between him being a good quarterback and a great quarterback.
And this is where it gets uncomfortable, because waiting to find out if Tagovailoa will ever bridge the gap was easy while he’s on his rookie contract. But that has run its course now.
Tagovailoa is signed on the fifth-year option for 2024. It will pay him $23.1 million guaranteed.
So, coming off three consecutive season-ending games in which the Dolphins lost and Tagovailoa underperformed against Baltimore, Buffalo and Kansas City, the seemingly easy road to take is do nothing. The Dolphins can simply have Tagovailoa play on what is effectively a one-year deal.
If Tagovailoa performs next year, he gets paid after the season.
Except that’s the story the Dolphins already used on Tagovailoa and his representation this season. So the quarterback and his agents, arguing the quarterback was healthy all season, probably expect an that extension. And not delivering could create a situation no one is eager to manage.
Fans may not care, but how does McDaniel on the one hand continue to tell Tagovailoa he’s committed to him, and give him "you’re my guy" love while on the other hand being part of a management team that won’t commit to Tagovailoa with a long-term contract?
Maybe Tagovailoa simply agrees he has more to prove and accepts the approach. But that would make Tagovailoa and his agents unlike 99.99% of other NFL players and reps.
Tagovailoa said his coming contract issue was not something he was worried about "right now." But that time when it’s front burner is coming.
So maybe the Dolphins feel compelled to pay Tagovailoa without, you know, overpaying him. Maybe they try a reprise of what they did with Ryan Tannehill, paying him more modestly as they waited to see if he continued to improve.
No, that didn’t work because Tannehill never became an elite quarterback in seven seasons with the team. And following the Tannehill model might unsurprisingly put the Dolphins in a similar scenario at the same position.
Joining Miami’s other litany of problems is the salary cap. The Dolphins will face one of the league’s most dire cap situations, starting approximately $55 million over the cap.
So a team that may have to pay its quarterback and to keep home grown talent such as Christian Wilkins, has to figure out how to get under the cap before it can even begin competing in free agency.
"What I do know is we’ll be in a situation where we’re trying to get better," McDaniel said. "And I think we were a better team and, if you specifically talk about offense, than last year.
"And that’s the point. There’s a lot of things we’ll look at that we’ll have concrete, actual, solid information on what we can do moving forward to get better."
So the five-year rebuild process continues.

"In Florida, we will hunt down anyone who brings fentanyl into our communities and puts lives at risk," DeSantis, who is also running for the 2024 Republican White House nomination, said. "I am thankful to the officers who continue to put the safety of their communities first and apprehend these criminals."
His comments came after the Florida Highway Patrol Criminal Interdiction Unit arrested a suspect on Thursday and seized the haul of drugs in Osceola County.

According to the state, troopers stopped a white Mercedes driving recklessly and pursued it going over 100 miles an hour, hitting other vehicles and driving on the wrong side of the highway. The driver, Jonathan Nicola, crashed and was taken into custody for traffic offenses.
During the subsequent search of the vehicle, officers found a loaded handgun, drug paraphernalia and 15,000 pills in a vacuum-sealed bag. The vehicle was determined to have been stolen. Nicola has since been charged with drug trafficking and possession, as well as vehicle and weapons charges.
Illicit fentanyl is typically manufactured in Mexico using Chinese precursors and then moved across the U.S. land border. While the majority of seizures take place at ports of entry, officials have warned about fentanyl being smuggled in between ports and past overwhelmed Border Patrol agents who are dealing with a historic migrant crisis.

"Despite the advantages the drug cartels reap from the open border, the Florida Highway Patrol will never back down from the mission Governor DeSantis has assigned us; keep our communities safe, and fight back against the cartel driven devastation," he said.
Of the over 107,000 overdose deaths in 2021, 75% involved an opioid, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC.) The drug can be fatal in tiny doses due to it being 50 times stronger than heroin, and is often either mixed with, or disguised as, other drugs, so users are unaware they are ingesting fentanyl.
The Biden administration has put the increase in seizures of the drug down to better screening and technology at ports of entry, and has said it needs more funding. But Republicans have said it is due to an increase in attempts as a result of the border crisis, meaning that more of the drug could be getting through.

Meanwhile, dozens of backers of Bouterse and the National Democratic Party he chairs arrived at his house to show their support as some yelled at journalists and played loud music, prompting government officials to tighten security measures.
"All necessary steps will be taken to ensure that the safety of both those involved and the wider society is guaranteed," the government said in a statement.
Spokesman Ricardo Panka said the party disagrees with the sentencing and noted that Bouterse will remain as chairman. But he said the crowd was ordered to remain calm.
"We are not going to create an angry mob to go against the authorities," he said.
Bouterse was sentenced on Dec. 20 after being found guilty in the 1982 killings, ending a historic 16-year legal process. He had previously been sentenced in 2019 and 2021 but appealed both rulings.

A new team of lawyers filed an appeal Monday against the sentencing on grounds that an amnesty law Bouterse unsuccessfully tried to push through more than a decade ago would apply, but Suriname’s attorney general rejected the move on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, authorities ordered Bouterse and four others convicted in the case to report to various prisons by Friday. Only three have done so.
Bouterse led a bloodless coup to become dictator from 1980 to 1987. During that time, he and two dozen other suspects were accused of executing prominent people including lawyers, journalists and a university professor at a colonial fortress in the capital of Paramaribo.
Bouterse has accepted "political responsibility" for the 1982 killings but insists he was not present.
He was later democratically elected as president from 2010 to 2020.
First lady Jill Biden responded to a question about her son, Hunter Biden, on Thursday during an interview on MSNBC and said "what they're doing to Hunter is cruel," referencing House Republicans investigating him.
"How have you been coping personally with the onslaught of accusations against your husband and your family, including and especially Hunter, he's the focus of a House Oversight Committee hearing holding, holding him in contempt, obsessing over him, showing pictures of him during vulnerable moments in his battle with addiction on the floor of the House, this would crush any family," MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski asked the first lady.
Biden responded, "I think what they're doing to Hunter is cruel."
"I'm really proud of how Hunter has rebuilt his life after addiction. You know, I love my son and it's hurt my grandchildren," she said. "That's what I'm so concerned about, that it is affecting their lives as well."
Brzezinski also asked about Republicans calling the first family the "Biden crime family," and mentioned the "Let's go Brandon" phrase.
Biden laughed, and said it was hard to look at "what we used to have."
"And what the other side and the extremists have turned this country into, I mean, we would never see things like that, say, 10 years ago," she said.
Biden also told the media outlet that the president's age should be considered an "asset."

Hunter Biden unexpectedly appeared with his attorneys at the House Oversight Committee's meeting on Wednesday to consider the resolution that, if passed, would set up a full House vote on whether to hold him in contempt of Congress for defying a congressional subpoena as part of the House impeachment inquiry against President Biden.
Hunter Biden and his attorneys Abbe Lowell and Kevin Morris went to Capitol Hill to sit in the audience as lawmakers on the panel considered whether to pass the resolution out of committee, but they ultimately left before the vote on the resolution.
Brzezinski asked Jill Biden about what she thought voters might not know about the president heading into the 2024 election.
"Mika, when I was dating Joe, one of the things that drew me to him was his strength. At that point, he had been through the death of his wife and baby daughter in a car accident, and then, you know, later we experienced the death of our son to cancer. Throughout all of this, you know, I saw Joe as steady and calm and resilient, and actually, when we got here, I felt that he knew how to rebuild this country because he had rebuilt our family out of tragedy. And I think what people don’t see is how hard Joe works every single day, that he gets up thinking, what he can do for the American people, and he does that, you know, his job doesn’t end when we just have dinner together at 7:00," she responded.

President Biden met with the sister of Paul Whelan on Wednesday after Russia rejected the latest deal to release the former U.S. Marine and bring him home.
The White House said in a statement that Biden held a private meeting with Elizabeth Whelan to discuss the administration’s efforts to bring her brother home. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan was also present.
"Immediately following the meeting, the President called the parents of Paul Whelan," the White House said.
"Since the beginning of the administration, the President has been personally engaged in the effort to secure the release of Americans held hostages and wrongfully detained around the world, including Paul Whelan and fellow American Evan Gershkovich.," the statement added.
US MARINE VETERAN PAUL WHELAN JAILED IN RUSSIA ATTACKED IN PRISON, FAMILY SAYS
In early December, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters that the United States had made "a new and significant proposal to secure Paul and Evan’s release," but "that proposal was rejected by Russia," according to CBS News.
The State Department noted that Dec. 28, 2023 marked five years since Russian authorities wrongfully detained Whelan.
Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed calls for the release of Whelan and Gershkovich, a Wall Street Journal reporter, at his annual press conference in Moscow last month.
"As for the possible extradition of these citizens [Gershkovich and Paul Whelan] to their homeland.… You say, why don't they return to their homeland? Then shouldn't they not commit crimes on the territory of the Russian Federation?" he said, according to Reuters. "But this is all rhetoric. It's not that we would refuse to return them. We didn't refuse. We want to reach an agreement, and these agreements must be mutually acceptable and suit both parties. We have contacts with our American partners on this matter, and dialogue is ongoing on this matter. It is not simple, I will not go into details now ... I hope we find a solution. But, I repeat, the American side must hear us and make an appropriate decision, one that suits the Russian side."
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov also reportedly blamed the White House for apparent leaks to U.S. media, saying publicity was hampering negotiations.
Whelan, a corporate security executive from Michigan and former U.S. Marine, has been jailed in Russia since his December 2018 arrest on espionage-related charges that both he and the U.S. government dispute. He was sentenced to 16 years in prison. In November, Whelan's family said he was attacked by a fellow prisoner on a production line in a labor camp.
Gershkovich, 32, was detained in March 2023 while on a reporting trip to the Russian city of Yekaterinburg, about 1,200 miles east of Moscow. He was accused of espionage and has been detained ever since. A Moscow court last month again rejected his appeal for pre-trial release, extending his detention to at least Jan. 30, 2024.
At least two U.S. citizens arrested in Russia in recent years, including WNBA star Brittney Griner, have been exchanged for Russians jailed in the U.S.

A group of left-wing rabbis demanding a cease-fire in Gaza took over the United Nations Security Council chamber in an unprecedented demonstration on Tuesday.
"It is an unprecedented defilement of the U.N.'s most sacred chamber and a stunning exposure of the U.N. reality of mob rule," Anne Bayefsky, director of the Touro Institute on Human Rights and the Holocaust, told Fox News Digital.
"The U.N. Security Council has never condemned Hamas for their October 7th atrocities, but a group of extremists calling to disarm Israelis and deny the Jewish state their U.N. Charter right of self-defense gets the approval of U.N. authorities," she added.
About three dozen rabbis and rabbinical students were able to gain access to the U.N. Security Council chamber since they had signed up for a tour of its headquarters in Manhattan.

Once inside, they unfurled banners they had hidden and began demanding the U.S. stop vetoing measures that would bring an end to the Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip. The protesters carried banners that read "Biden: the world says cease-fire" and "Biden: Stop vetoing peace."
A press release by Rabbis 4 Ceasefire, Jews For Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ), Jewish Voice for Peace, and IfNotNow, sent out before their protest started, laid out their goals.
The press release said in part, "demands of the United States and all members of the United Nations: (1) Reaffirm and recommit to the goals of the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, taking meaningful action to stop the slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza; (2) Hold another Security Council vote to pass a resolution for ceasefire that includes lifting the siege and hostage exchange; (3) Bring to the General Assembly a resolution calling for appropriate accountability measures in line with international law, including an immediate arms embargo."
The U.N. has called for an immediate cease-fire, but the U.S. and, at times, other allies have rejected various resolutions, usually citing issues with language and lack of what the U.S. deems a "durable" solution to the situation.
The Security Council did pass a resolution on boosting humanitarian aid to the region and "to create the conditions for a sustainable cessation of hostilities." The U.S. didn't use its veto and allowed it to pass.
Protests demanding a cease-fire have increased around the U.S. as Israeli operations in Gaza continue, with over 300 protesters arrested in New York City on Monday as they blocked the various bridges and tunnels that connect the city to surrounding areas during rush hour traffic in the morning.

Protesters on Monday also interrupted President Biden's speech in Charleston, South Carolina, at the site of 2015 massacre in Mother Emanuel AME Church, chanting "Cease-fire now! Cease-fire now!"
Stephane Dujarric, spokesperson for U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, told Fox News Digital that no one at the U.N. had advance knowledge of the protest, and he insisted that no one at the organization tried to assist the protesters.
He highlighted the fact that the group included both American and Israeli rabbis, and he argued that the group was anti-war, not anti-Israel.
"They had booked tours as individuals ahead of time, like anyone else given that tours can only be booked online," Dujarric explained. "Like any other visitors, they went through a thorough security screening for weapons and sharp objects. The banners they brought in were carefully hidden in their clothes and could not be detected by the normal security screening devices we use."

"After they pulled out their papers, security asked them to take seats while we collected their names," he continued. "Following that they were escorted out of the building. At no point did they represent a security threat to the delegates and staff, nor was there ever a point where there was any physical resistance on their part nor was force, or threat of force, used by U.N. security."
Dujarric stressed that the protesters had "clearly violated the rules" and were escorted off the premises for that reason, but he noted the nonviolent nature of the protest and that people occasionally do make it into the U.N. to "express themselves."
Bayefsky did not find the U.N. explanations of events likely, noting that demonstrators had been able to film and photograph their activity, which she noted was not permitted without U.N. authorization, and blamed security and the tour guides for allowing the protest to take place.
"U.N. security officers are enabling the event, allowing it to continue, and removing uninvolved onlookers from the room," she claimed. "The tour guides were also there and not demanding U.N. security take immediate action to restore tour protocol."

The video, initially shared on X by lawyer and investigative journalist Caryma Sa’d, shows a Toronto police officer carrying a box of Tim Hortons coffee and cups and handing them to protesters. The recipient, dressed in Palestinian garb, explains the delivery was not sent by the police, but someone else who bought the coffee for the protesters attempting an anti-Israel demonstration on a highway overpass. "But police won’t let them in, so the police is now becoming our little messengers between us," the man says.
The clip received an outpouring of condemnation online from critics alleging preferential treatment by police to those protesting against Israel, contrasted with how Canadian law enforcement has cracked down in the past on the "Freedom Convoy" of truckers protesting COVID-19 mandates, as well as some pro-life demonstrations.
Reached by Fox News Digital Sunday, Toronto Police Service spokesperson Laurie McCann said, "In regards to the coffee post on X, Our officers are managing a dynamic situation."

The account @LibsofTikTok amplified the video viewed more than 1 million times on X, writing, "In Canada, patriotic truckers get their bank accounts frozen but pro-Palestine protesters blocking a Jewish community get hot coffee delivered to them by police."
In a post to his nearly 428,000 followers, Rebel News publisher Ezra Levant wrote, "@TorontoPolice gives coffee and donuts to Hamas supporters. @OttawaPolice hides the identity of antisemitic hate criminals. They’ve both been colonized by dangerous, woke partisans."
"You cannot trust the police in most Canadian cities," Levant said.
CANADA’S TRUCKER PROTESTS AND HISTORY’S PARALLELS
The video comes as Toronto police are investigating a fire and graffiti at a Jewish-owned grocery store as a possible hate crime.
The business, International Delicatessen Foods, on Steeles Avenue West near Petrolia Road, had the message "Free Palestine" spray-painted outside, CBC reported. Toronto police confirmed to Fox News Digital the incident remains under investigation as of Sunday.
In addition to the Toronto coffee video, Levant responded to a press release Friday announcing that the Ottawa Police Service Hate and Bias Crime Unit has charged an individual following a "series of mischief to property incidents in the Downtown area in December." The police's release omitted the suspect's name.
"In the evening hours of December 22nd, the individual spray-painted a series of antisemitic symbols and other hateful messages in multiple locations in the Downtown and Golden Triangle areas. A 34-year-old Ottawa man has been identified and charged with 18 counts of Mischief to property. He is expected to appear in court today," the release read.
Another critic, lawyer Ryan O’Connor, shared screenshots of posts by another Toronto Police Service employee initially defending the video, saying officers managed a "dynamic situation."
"So after a Toronto Police spokesperson – who defended the police providing taxpayer-funded coffee to protesters blockading a highway bridge and entrance to a Jewish neighbourhood on the Sabbath – was criticized online, she simply deleted her Twitter account," O’Connor claimed.
"Toronto Police: if you block a highway bridge containing 1 of only 3 road entrances to a neighborhood full of Jews, on the Sabbath, you can expect not to be arrested but to get some taxpayer-funded coffee for your efforts," O’Connor had written earlier, initially reacting to the video.
Russia's election commission has registered two candidates to oppose President Vladimir Putin in the upcoming 2024 elections.
Liberal Democratic Party candidate Leonid Slutsky and New People Party candidate Vladislav Davankov were approved for the March election by official this week.
Danankov currently serves as the deputy speaker for the state Duma — Russia's lower legislative chamber. Slutsky is the head of the state Duma's foreign affairs committee.

The 46-year-old woman, who was not publicly identified, called forest rangers for help around 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 26, saying that she had slipped off the summit of South Dix Mountain in upstate New York’s Adirondack Mountains, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation said.
She told rangers that she had tumbled several hundred feet through steep snow and a rockslide until she grabbed a small spruce tree to stop herself from going over the edge of a cliff, the agency said.
Rangers had the woman call 911 to acquire her coordinates and told her to find a way to keep warm since it would be hours until they could reach her in the mountains.
"She quite honestly thought she was going to die up there," Ranger Jamison Martin said in a video describing the incident. "She was just petrified to move in any direction; she obviously wasn’t going any further down, but she couldn’t get herself back up the rock slab. She basically felt like she was totally stuck."
Martin described the conditions as treacherous, with temperatures in the low 30s, pouring rain, deep snow and slippery ice – what he called hypothermia weather.

Martin and another ranger reached the woman at 1:30 a.m., providing her with warm liquids, food and dry clothing. The rangers then guided the hiker out of the vegetation and back to the trail so they could descend the mountain.
The rangers and hiker reached her vehicle at 6:30 a.m., the agency said. No further details about the hiker’s condition were immediately released.
Martin said the woman was an experienced hiker who has ascended all 46 of the Adirondack High Peaks over 4,000 feet high twice before and was working on her third go-around.
Prospective Dutch Prime Minister Geert Wilders has threatened to rescind the country’s apology for slavery, as he continues haggling with various parties to form a coalition government.
"The apologies for the history of slavery and the police actions, as made by the king, will be withdrawn," Wilders had warned in his election manifesto, according to The Times newspaper of Britain.
Wilders, the leader of the far-right Freedom Party (PVV), shocked political experts when his party won the Dutch general election, but he first needed to create a coalition of parties to form his government or face another election. Those closed-door talks between PVV and three other parties have dragged on for weeks.
Wilder indicated he would drop some of his more extreme anti-Muslim policy proposals to reach a compromise and cooperate with the other parties after only one showed any willingness to outright work with PVV, according to The Guardian.

Outgoing Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s conservative People's Party for Freedom and Democracy ruled out any possible participation in Wilders’ cabinet, though the new leader Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius said he would consider offering "outside" support to PVV.
Rutte and King Willem-Alexander issued an apology for the "crime against humanity" of slavery and colonialism last year, but Wilders blasted the apology during his campaign as "nonsense excuses about the distant past" and "left-wing hatred" of the country’s history.

Wilders has used the threat to try and protect his anti-Muslim policy plans, which include shutting down mosques and banning the Quran. However, Wilders has already dropped his plans to shutter mosques and ban the Quran as he seeks to solidify support. The plan to revoke the Dutch slavery apology remains popular among his supporters, as the apology was not fully supported before its adoption.

As recently as 2020, Rutte had ruled out the possibility of offering an apology for slavery and the Dutch role in the slave trade, according to local Dutch news.
"I understand the request and I know what an apology can mean," Rutte told ministers during a heated debate on racism. "But the question is, can you hold the people who are alive today responsible for the past? Some could experience that as painful."
However, Rutte admitted the debate was "certainly not over," and just two years later he reversed course, despite polls indicating that the general populace did not care for such an apology, even after the global Black Lives Matter protests.
King Willem-Alexander quietly supported and helped open an exhibit that looked at the "colonial past during which a significant portion of the foundations of the present-day Netherlands were laid."
A 30-year-old man died at Salt Lake City International Airport after he accessed the airport’s deicing pad and crawled into an aircraft engine, authorities said Tuesday.
The initial investigation began at 9:52 a.m. Monday when a store manager inside the airport reported a disturbance involving a passenger on the secured side of the terminal, the Salt Lake City Police Department said.
Investigators determined the man had left through an emergency exit door and accessed the airport’s ramp area.
At around 10:10 a.m., police and airport workers found the man unconscious inside a wing-mounted engine of an occupied commercial aircraft on the deicing pad, the department said. The aircraft’s engines were not running at the time.

Delta Air Lines told Fox News Digital that the incident happened while two pilots, three flight attendants and 95 customers were aboard the Airbus A220-100 aircraft set to travel to San Francisco.
First responders removed the man from the engine intake cowling and declared him dead on the scene despite life-saving efforts, police said.
Authorities were working to identify the man and his cause of death.

The fire at the Fulton County Jail was extinguished by prison staff.
The Atlanta Fire Department also responded to the scene. It was unclear how the prisoner started the fire.

The Fulton County Sheriff's Office told WSB-TV Sunday that 15 prisoners were relocated to another part of the jail, but none of them needed medical attention as a result of the fire.
"I am proud of the women and men of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office for their dedication and ability to maintain order under challenging circumstances," Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat said in a statement. "The safety and security of the detainees in our care and custody is a top priority."
The prisoner accused of setting the fire was charged with arson and damage to jail property.
